TOUGH CONVERSATIONS

FEEDBACK THAT DOESN'T SUCK!

We all need to have conversations to move things forward, whether you lead teams, projects or ideas. Yet sometimes it’s outbreaks… not outcomes that stand in the way. Or we just avoid them altogether.

This program helps people build their confidence and capability to have the tough conversations, well. Building trust and respect with their colleagues becomes the result. No matter how tough it is. And it’s easier than you think. In this workshop you will;

  • Become aware of why you avoid or handle conversations poorly and the cost
  • Learn how to prepare and structure those tough conversations
  • Understand how to create ‘safety’ in conversations
  • Develop techniques to navigate the conversations when they go south
  • Become more aware of your own communication style and how it helps or hinders

THE 'BOARD OF DIRECTORS'

THAT LIVE IN YOUR HEAD

Our thinking styles have a profound impact on our lives. They determine how we make decisions and influence how we build working relationships. Our thinking style can determine our perspective on any given situation. Understanding this is the first step to making better decisions quicker and building more productive relationships.

This program looks at the ‘Board of Directors’ (BODs) that live in our head. These thought patterns can distort the way we see the world. It will help you diagnose your own thinking patterns, understand their impact and build tools to improve the decisions you make.

In this workshop, we will;

  • Become aware of your thinking style and how you may have formed these
  • Understand the impact your thinking has on yourself and those around you
  • Discover how your BOD’s affects the decisions you make and relationships you build Learn tools and techniques to improve your perspective
  • Build an action plan for breaking bad habits and improving your thinking

FLAWSOME LEADERSHIP

BECOMING THE BEST VERSIONS OF OURSELVES

We are all imperfect, with flaws. Let’s acknowledge that. And we all have awesome strengths we need to harness. Let’s put them together and recognise we are ‘flawsome’ and understand how to make the most of this when leading.

Creating and leading super charged teams is an art and a skill. And it can be learnt. This program gives leaders the skills and ability to build highly productive, innovative and engaged teams.

In this workshop, we will;

  • Become aware of what it takes to be a great leader
  • Consider your own strengths and flaws and how they contribute to who you are
  • Build the skills to coach people through their issues and career development
  • Learn to diagnose the issue and discuss performance when it waivers
  • Understand how to solve team and workplace issues as they arise

COMMUNICATING WITH IMPACT

BEST PRACTICE EMAILING

We all know that conversations matter. So does non verbal communication. The best give clarity, purpose and move things forward. They also help build our personal brand and reputation, and build trust and respect. Yet there is an art to making them stand out, which leads to getting things done.

In this highly practical workshop, we will;

  • Become aware of the cost of poor non verbal communication
  • Understand the content and structure of great emails
  • Prepare and critique our own emails
  • Discuss ‘email etiquette’ and best practice

KICK ‘A’ 1 ON 1’s

We have too many people ‘checking out’ of our ‘check ins’. We are missing an opportunity to grow, develop and seriously engage our people through Kick ‘A’ 1 on 1’s. We now know that performance reviews are not improving the performance of our people. In fact, most of them are doing the opposite. Too many managers think that ‘task is key’ and their focus becomes a tick list.

If only we had more time we would be able to invest more in our people is a common cry. And for many the real issue is “I just don’t know how to get the best from my people”. Running great 1 on 1s increases performance and engagement tenfold, for our people AND for our managers.

This program will teach leaders to;

  • Develop the mindset to make these catch ups with their people thrive
  • Structure and prepare well for their 1 on 1’s and make the most of the time
  • Build the skills to coach people through their issues and career development
  • Build their capability to give feedback and deal with the issues as they arise
  • Understand what your people need to thrive and be fully engaged
