A topic that’s on a lot of our minds right now is mental health. For us Victorians it’s a head game at the moment. Over the last few months, I’ve seen a few powerful stories in the media. One that stuck with me was Tim Paine, when he openly supported team mate Will Pucovski during a time when Will’s mental health was suffering. There was a lot of press around this but what stood out for me was Tim’s stance on making sure that we ask the right questions when people are struggling. ‘Are you ok?’ is a great starting point especially to understand what is going on for them. The next piece is equally important. Reassuring someone that seeking professional help is not something to feel ashamed about. The ABC did an interview with a mental health expert on this topic who talks about the importance of this and in particular for men. Research shows that men have a harder time opening up about mental health problems. I’d give it a listen and if you feel like there is someone in your world playing a tough mental game maybe asking the right questions could help.

'Georgia was a breath of fresh air in terms of her ability to deliver quality training content in an engaging, dynamic and high energy manner. She managed to hold the attention of a group of leaders who can disengage very quickly if credibility of the facilitator is not proven upfront. We unanimously felt that we walked away from her session with some very simple, actionable strategies that will make a difference immediately in our day to day interactions with our team, clients and candidates.'
