Well do you? Good. After years of designing and embedding check in cultures I know what it takes to run awesome catch ups. Ones that are not just task focused conversations.
But do remote ones differ from face to face? Yeah they do. Some stuff is the same. Some needs to change.
People can feel invisible at the best of times. In a remote work environment, it’s more important than ever to make sure we are making the most of our check ins so our people don’t check out. We want them to feel valued and purposeful.
You need to know what your people are thinking about, worried about and working on. If you are not clear on these. You might not be listening or asking the right questions. Or they might not feel comfortable telling you.
Most leaders tend to focus on ‘task’ in their interactions, avoid the career conversations and continue to slip into the old school way of telling solution rather than helping people to do their own thinking.
And now we have the complication of not being able to be with each other and for some people – to be completely isolated. We need to plan for this.
So let’s talk about that for 75 mins on Friday at 12pm. Register here.
