FLAWSOME LEADERSHIP

GROW YOUR OWN LEADERSHIP TO CREATE A POSITIVE RIPPLE EFFECT

We are all imperfect, with flaws. Let’s acknowledge that. In fact, let’s go further and make peace with who we are. If people leave leaders not jobs then working on ourselves has never been more important. So the people around us can be inspired by our presence and our support. When we see ourselves clearly we are able to move forward faster and support others to do the same.

Creating and leading super charged teams is an art and a skill. It can be learnt. And it starts with ourselves. It starts with being real about who we are and what we bring. This workshop will help people;

  • Understand their leadership and style and the impact it has on ourselves and those around us.
  • Become aware of what triggers them off and where it may come from.
  • Learn to re-wire thinking and beliefs so they help not hinder and we can do the same for those around us.
  • Take responsibility for the environment we create and understand how we can set up a safe and inspiring culture.
  • Deal with our stuff. Coz it matters. We get to level up. It inspires others to do the same.

TOUGH CONVERSATIONS

FEEDBACK THAT DOESN’T SUCK!

We all need to have conversations to move things forward, whether you lead teams, projects or ideas. Yet sometimes it’s outbreaks… not outcomes that stand in the way. Or we just avoid them altogether.

This program helps people build their confidence and capability to have the tough conversations, well. Building trust and respect with their colleagues becomes the result. No matter how tough it is. And it’s easier than you think. In this workshop you will;

  • Become aware of why you avoid or handle conversations poorly and the cost
  • Learn how to prepare and structure those tough conversations
  • Understand how to create ‘safety’ in conversations
  • Develop techniques to navigate the conversations when they go south
  • Become more aware of your own communication style and how it helps or hinders

HEALTHY CONFLICT

Most people have an unhealthy relationship to conflict. They either defend and attack or retreat and avoid. Yet it’s a necessary part of life. It’s how we create new ideas, plans, re-think our approach and our views.  Otherwise we are all just echo chambers following each other like a bunch of sheep.  The thing is;

Conflict is good.

Combat is not.

Nice goes nowhere.

Conflict when it’s healthy is disagreement done respectfully. It embraces a specific dispute. It might not agree but it will stay curious. It has the courage to share perspectives and the willingness to listen to others. It is passionate and creates good controversy. It seeks feedback, tolerates other perspectives and takes responsibility.

It’s when we turn conflict into our need to win that it’s unhealthy. We make it a war or a win lose situation. A combat. Or we might try out a few passive aggressive eye rolls or throw in some subtle ghosting.

Or we hide under a rock in the hope it will go away. We play nice with each other and pull out the passive agreement card.  Where we say yes but have no intention of doing anything.  We just don’t want to talk about it.

Our Healthy Conflict program helps teams realign and sets new ways of working moving forward. It deals with three core concepts;

  1. Understand my role. We all play a role when it comes to conflict. Whether we are part of the problem or we allow unhelpful behaviours in others. Learning to see what is happening and taking responsibility for the role we play is the start.
  2. Work as one. Here we create agreements around how we want to dispute and disagree in the future. We agree on how we will measure success and importantly learn how to talk it out and nip those uncomfortable moments in the bud.
  3. Know your tools. We need pragmatic tools and techniques to be able to do conflict well. So we will build a toolkit of techniques and solve real workplace issues together.

KICK ‘A’ 1 ON 1’s

We have too many people ‘checking out’ of our ‘check ins’. We are missing an opportunity to grow, develop and seriously engage our people through Kick ‘A’ 1 on 1’s. We now know that performance reviews are not improving the performance of our people. In fact, most of them are doing the opposite. Too many managers think that ‘task is key’ and their focus becomes a tick list.

If only we had more time we would be able to invest more in our people is a common cry. And for many the real issue is “I just don’t know how to get the best from my people”. Running great 1 on 1s increases performance and engagement tenfold, for our people AND for our managers.

This program will teach leaders to;

  • Develop the mindset to make these catch ups with their people thrive
  • Structure and prepare well for their 1 on 1’s and make the most of the time
  • Build the skills to coach people through their issues and career development
  • Build their capability to give feedback and deal with the issues as they arise
  • Understand what your people need to thrive and be fully engaged

THE ‘BOARD OF DIRECTORS’

THAT LIVE IN YOUR HEAD

Our thinking styles have a profound impact on our lives. They determine how we make decisions and influence how we build working relationships. Our thinking style can determine our perspective on any given situation. Understanding this is the first step to making better decisions quicker and building more productive relationships.

This program looks at the ‘Board of Directors’ (BODs) that live in our head. These thought patterns can distort the way we see the world. It will help you diagnose your own thinking patterns, understand their impact and build tools to improve the decisions you make.

In this workshop, we will;

  • Become aware of your thinking style and how you may have formed these
  • Understand the impact your thinking has on yourself and those around you
  • Discover how your BOD’s affects the decisions you make and relationships you build
  • Learn tools and techniques to improve your perspective
  • Build an action plan for breaking bad habits and improving your thinking

ATTENTION!

GETTING YOUR POINT ACROSS

In today’s matrix organisations we need to achieve outcomes by influencing others. It can be as simple as responding in meetings or inspiring others to follow an idea or process. The point is we need to be able to articulate those concepts quickly and effectively. It’s not enough to be the subject matter or technical expert if no one is listening.

Wouldn’t it be great to have the confidence to share your ideas and insights, in a way that engages your listeners, every time? This program teaches people how to think on their feet, and share clear and concise messages, in a way that captures and keep people’s attention not drains them. In this program participants will:

  • Learn how to communicate quickly and concisely, in and out of meetings
  • Motivate people to listen and act on the message you are articulating
  • Build your reputation and influence, in and out of the organisation
  • Improve your confidence to share your message, no matter who the audience

MASTERY

ENGAGING & INSPIRING YOUR AUDIENCE

So that they connect with, and act on, our message. Presenting with impact is an essential ingredient to a person’s success, whether you are a leader of people or ideas or processes.

For those that need to present in groups, talk to larger audiences or inspire people to action there are techniques and tools that can be learnt. This program shows leaders how to create masterful content that connects with their audience, and to deliver it in a way that inspires action. In this program participants will;

  • Understand how to structure and prepare for any presentation
  • Develop your ability to read and communicate across all audience types
  • Learn how to deal with the challenging people in a room
  • Create and practice a ‘TED style’ presentation to get your message across
